Using Dharma Tribe / Students Find / Merge duplicate records. Searches for duplicate student records search only names that match both the first and last name. To find duplicate records, from the Student window select LIST. Click on the FIND DUPLICATES button. The student list will display all duplicated names and sort the list for you.
Merging records allows you to consolidate data from two records where attendance history or purchase history have been entered for the same student in two separate records. If no data has been entered in one or the other of the records, you can simply DELETE the record you do not wish to keep. To Merge duplicates: 1.Perform the FIND DUPLICATES report as indicated above. 2.Click on MERGE. The screen will show the first two records from the list. 3. Determine which record you want to keep and which you want to delete. The ID numbers of each record will be displayed in bold. Enter the ID numbers of each in the appropriate fields. 4. Click Consolidate Now. During the merge process, if there are tables which have no data to merge, the script will pause and either ask you to Continue or Cancel. Choose CONTINUE each time until the process has finished. When all the tables have merged you will get message saying "You are about to delete a record". Click OK to finish. You will then be directed back to the list view and the FIND DUPLICATES search function will automatically begin again. |
